So a couple of posts ago I wrote about how Skylie and Summer are scared of things and are having issues going outside because of it. Well I'm happy to report that Skylie is totally over her fear of flies now and will happily play outside for hours.
Summer on the other hand is still scared of everything and it's driving me crazy. She will come in saying she's scared on "piders", and bugs, she will be traumatized forever because of the garbage truck, but most of all she is still scared of airplanes. Every time she goes out she comes running back in saying "airplane, airplane" and she will not go back out. So I told Steve about this and of course he thought it was completely ridiculous and he wanted to solve the problem right then. So he had Summer bring him outside to show him the airplane, which actually didn't even exist it turns out. Instead she pointed to this........
Yup, that is the view of our antenna from our deck she plays (or used to play) on all the time. I will give her credit though, it does kind of look like an airplane. No wonder there was constantly an airplane outside.
So Steve got a ladder and hauled Summer up on the roof to show her it wasn't scary. He was touching it and trying to get her to do the same. She of course wouldn't, and just wanted down while crying threw the whole process. I've said it before and I'll say it again..it's going to be a long summer.

Picture update...
So here's some random pictures of what we've been up to lately......
I really have a love/hate relationship with painting. My kids love it and it keeps them entertained for at least an hour, but I hate the mess that it brings. Even Kash, the innocent bystander in his high chair, some how managed to get paint on his face.
This was the night of Haylie and Micah's gymnastics finale. And yes Haylie still had her broken arm and still performed in the finale. She is a lot like Steve in that way. Anyone that knows Steve well knows what I'm talking about. She also went and played her final basketball game with her cast on. Don't know how she managed that one but she did. Anyways the girls did great and it was fun to watch them perform. I'm happy that it is over for the year.
I love that my kids are goofy. They had lots of fun with pipe cleaner.
And it just wouldn't be a normal day if someone wasn't dressed up. I had to get the Halloween costumes out one day and they have been having a blast with them ever since.

Here is Kash and his latest move. He thinks he is pretty hot stuff. He is still a little unsteady with standing but is getting better. He looks so big in this picture. It makes me really mad. Time is just not stopping like I want it to.
This is one of the favorite things to do at our house. No broken bones yet from it. And if your wondering why the swim suit...No we didn't go swimming, this is just one of Skylie's many outfit's of the day.I love that my kids are goofy. They had lots of fun with pipe cleaner.

Summer is such a sweetheart when she's not grumpy. She is loving being outside and riding her bike. So is this guy.......

Scaredy cats..
So I am loving that it is finally nice outside. So are my kids. They have been loving playing outside. Except for one little problem. The other day Skylie was outside and came running in petrified of something. I asked her what was wrong and she said she saw a fly. And of course if Skylie is scared so is Summer. So they were both freaking out about this fly and would not go back outside. I knew it would be a long spring if I didn't teach them right now that flies are not scary. So I took them out on the deck and told them all they had to was sing the song "Shoo fly don't bother me" and the flies wouldn't get them. I even sang it to the fly and luckily the fly held perfectly still through the whole song, proving my theory exactly. So they forgot about the fly and went and played.
The next day they were outside only a few minutes and I heard Skylie singing the song to another fly. See it works.
A few minutes later Summer came running in petrified yelling, "airplane, airplane". Yes she is scared of airplanes apparantly. It could be a really long summer.

April Fools!!
So I love April Fools Day. I love trying to think of little pranks to pull and jokes to tell. My problem is that I try and tell a little joke and I have a permagrin the whole time and it is really obvious to everyone that I'm not telling the truth. I thought of some good pranks to pull involving oreo cookies and toothpaste and I went to make the cookies and realized that Steve ate all the eggs this morning. So that didn't work. The best I came up with was putting stuff in the kids pillow cases and losing Haylie's spot in her book (which I don't think she even noticed).
My kids on the other hand were quite the little tricksters this morning. I went to the gym early this morning and while I was gone there was all sorts of tricks being pulled. They got all the shoes from the entrance and hide them (which backfired cause they had to put them all away after), put all the stools on top of the table, switched things around in the bathroom, rearranged the stuff on the fridge, and put duct tape on the faucet which sprayed all over Steve. hehe. Oh and a favorite of mine when I was younger, put an elastic over the handle of the sprayer on the sink so when the water goes on it sprays. Luckily for Steve he didn't turn the water on full blast.
A classic at our house growing up was switching the salt and the sugar. I made the mistake of telling Haylie about it yesterday. She said she wouldn't do it but sure enough, she did. And the April Fools Day scrooge happened to be the victim. By scrooge I mean Steve. I guess he wasn't the victim, it was actually Briggs, but it was Steve that got everyone breakfast this morning. Anyways he was not impressed that he had to waste a whole bowl of cereal and the milk that went with it. I guess they never pulled that prank at his house.
